What is a Bazi chart?
#

Bazi, also called the Four Pillars of Destiny, is built from four pillars โ€” year, month, day, and hour โ€” each containing one heavenly stem and one earthly branch, eight characters in total (hence “Bazi”). A chart calculation derives these stems and branches from your birth time, along with ten gods, hidden stems, nayin, shensha (symbolic stars), luck pillars, and annual pillars โ€” the foundation of Chinese destiny analysis.

How do I use this calculator?
#

In the form above, choose solar or lunar calendar, gender, and your birth date and time; adjust the luck pillar count and yong-shen (preferred element) method as needed, then click “ๅผ€ๅง‹ๆŽ’็›˜” (Start). Results appear in three tabs โ€” Basic Info, Chart (Ming Pan), and More Info. On the chart tab, click a luck period (Da Yun) to switch the annual pillars, and click a year to switch the monthly pillars, all linked across three levels.

How do Da Yun, Liu Nian, and Liu Yue relate?
#

Da Yun (luck pillar) spans ten years and reflects the trend of a life stage. Liu Nian is the stem-branch of each year. Liu Yue is the stem-branch of each of the twelve months in that year. In this tool, selecting a luck period automatically loads its ten years; selecting a year loads its twelve months, so you can drill down level by level.

Is the result accurate?
#

The stem-branch calculation follows traditional Chinese calendar and metaphysics rules. Different schools differ on luck onset, hidden-stem allocation, and preferred-element methods; this tool offers common algorithm options. Metaphysics results are for reference and study only and do not constitute advice.

Is the data real-time or a fixed sample?
#

Currently it uses demo (mock) data to showcase the full chart UI and three-level linkage. Once connected to a real backend calculation API, it will return the actual chart for your input time. The API contract is documented in tools/README.md.
